Well what a week we had the other week! It's not every day you go to your sisters 30th birthday and she ends up getting married! Charley and Matthew definitely know how to do things in style.
If you haven’t heard yet, in last weeks OK magazine you can see that my little sister invited all her friends and family to what we thought was a 30th birthday celebration, only to tell everyone when they got there that it was actually going to be their wedding.
I can’t even explain the emotions, it was like a rollercoaster. I went from shocked, to excited, to angry, to sad, to happy all in a few seconds it was surreal. I was so annoyed I didn’t know and wasn’t prepared, then I felt upset that Charley had planned it all on her own and I couldn’t help her, then feeling excited that she was finally getting married and proud of the amazing surprise and how she’d managed to pull it off, and finally the overwhelming feeling of happiness for her and the fact we were just about to share that special moment. It really was the best surprise ever.
Of course I was most annoyed that after two hours getting her ready I had to go and redo her makeup because I’d done party makeup for her, not wedding makeup! As a makeup artist doing someones wedding is always so much pressure so I had to start again to make sure she looked perfect!
I think she looked stunning and am thrilled I got to do her makeup.
We also had the Cassie Lomas Makeup Academy events team there glamming up all the guests and providing a touch-up bar throughout the event. It was amazing to be able to share such a special event with some of my team and see them working so hard to make everyone look and feel beautiful. It was a great experience for them as new MUA’s. A huge thanks to such a dream team!
So for Charley's bridal makeup, see what I used here…
Brides should just look fresh and radiant. A more beautifully polished version of how they usually look.
Start with a good skincare prep and a radiance mask like Sisley radiant glow express mask
Apply a primer. Hourglass mineral veil primer, is my favourite at the moment for lasting hold.
A light application of B. Cassie Lomas Sheer Illuminator gives a gorgeous subtle glow without being shiny on pictures.
MAC Face and Body Foundation which is a makeup artists must have for perfectly fresh skin
Illamasqua gel sculpt to contour in the hollows of the cheeks
I built up the lashes using three different mascaras because they all do different things, I like to build the product for the 'flutteryest' lashes.
I layered over the top of the cheeks a flush of pink with the Becca Beach Tint in Grapefruit.
On the lips I pressed a tiny amount of my ‘All About Me’ Liquid Lip for a perfect base colour that lasts all night, and then I pressed in the B. luminous lipstick in Mrs Jones to get a glowy pink sheen. Finishing with some By Terry Lip Balm to really sink the products in.
Finally my Cassie Lomas pigment in 'supermodel sheen'. Used on all the highlights of the face.
Hope you picked up a copy of last weeks OK magazine for all the pictures. Or keep an eye on my social for more coming soon.
