We all look for simple ways to get quick and easy fixes with our beauty regime. Sometimes the simplest of tricks can be the most genius ones. Here are some of my favourite basic tips for you to try when going for a natural beauty look, and don’t forget to let me know how you get on in the comments below!
1) Brush your brows up daily and fix with hair spray to encourage them to grow in the right direction and fix in place.
Your brows frame your face so daily encouragement for them to grow neatly and in the right direction is key. I find having a brow brush by your toothbrush reminds you to groom them daily even on a ‘no makeup’ day. Using a hairspray can sometimes be more effective than brow gels. Hold the hairspray about 10cm away from your brush when spraying so you have enough product.
2) In summer create your own tinted moisturiser by mixing your base with your face cream.
I don’t see the need for buying too many foundations because you get to love the one you use daily. A great way to transition between winter and spring is to lighten the texture of what you use for a fuller coverage by mixing it. You can use your daily moisturiser or if you want a glow then opt for an illuminator instead.
3) Use your bronzer as a contour and eye shadow
A really quick way to get a healthy makeup look is to use your bronzer as an eyeshadow and a cheek colour. Multi tasking is a great way to get the most out of your make up bag. I used this technique to create this look during a stage demo.
4) Make your lips look bigger by applying a highlighter to the cupids bow
Picking out highlights on the face is a good way to make the most of your features with minimal makeup and it is really on trend. By highlighting the cupids bow your lips will look fuller by trick of the light and where it hits your lips.
5) Fingers are always your best tools
There's just something about using your fingers to apply your makeup. It's quicker and you can really push products into the skin so they are more natural looking. It is tricky to apply a powder without brushes but creams and liquids work really well with this technique.
